A Time to Mourn

Benazir Bhutto
Benazir Bhutto

I usually make a great effort to refrain from excessive political postings, yet today I have to share. My heart aches over the loss of Benazir Bhutto. She was assassinated in Pakistan yesterday as she waved from the sunroof of her car in a motorcade. Bhutto was a breath of fresh air in Pakistan. She was a very well educated and believed strongly in the democratic process. She had just recently revealed corruption in the current leaders (Musharraf) government and this may very well have been the cause of her death though she was by no means safe before her comments. She had just recently returned to Pakistan after an exile and was under house arrest at least once since her return. Bhutto meant great things for Pakistan, women and the democratic process. My heart goes out to her children and family.
