The Red Sea is popular with divers from around the world

A search is under way for four divers missing since Saturday in the shark-infested waters of the Red Sea, Egyptian officials have said. The divers became separated from their boat due to bad weather, police said. The alarm was raised after a fellow diver managed to swim ashore.

Two of the missing are Russian, one is Dutch. The other is an Egyptian guide.

They were diving at a coral reef 25km (15 miles) from the resort town of Marsa Allam, the Mena news agency said.

A search plane and several boats have been sent to search for the missing divers, the head of security for Egypt’s Red Sea province said.

The Red Sea’s coral reefs and numerous sharks are popular with divers from around the world.

Shark infested, sharp rocks- nothing is that compelling to me that I would have to go diving in those waters.  But I bet you could get some great pictures.
